Daniel is silent long enough to flash Merritt a (teasingly) cold smile. When he drops it again, he holds up one finger, silently asking for a second, then ducks back into his room. When he reappears again, it's with a ball of clean socks, possibly meant for his suitcase -- which he proceeds to pitch at Merritt's head.
